OSA
THE MOST BIOLOGICALLY INTENSE PLACE ON THE PLANET
The southern region of Costa Rica harbors a grand oasis, a vast jungle, or what is considered the most marvelous forest in the country.
The Osa Peninsula is a biodiversity hotspot, epitomizing the expanse of a forest that meets the sea. Its over forty thousand hectares host a diversity of ecosystems, combined with various microclimates, making it an exceptionally diverse site. A single hike along one of its trails easily reveals all species of monkeys found in our country, or may bring an encounter with the tapir, a species endangered with fewer than five thousand individuals estimated to survive globally.
Its biological richness in such a small territory earned it the title of the most biologically intense place on Earth by National Geographic magazine.
